Eternal Life
In the gospel of Luke Jesus was asked, “…what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He asked the lawyer what was written in the law. The lawyer quoted from Deuteronomy a concept that is repeated in several passages in the Old Testament. The writer said that these words should be on their heart, they should be taught to their children, and they should live by these words.
What were the instructions that prompted Jesus to say, “Do this and you will live”?
Love the Lord your God with all your heart soul strength mind
So according to Jesus, if we do this then we will inherit eternal life. Our assumption for now will be that the reader desires eternal life. At a latter time we will explore what that means. For now we will begin to look at this statement since this is the simple truth, if we love god with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind we will inherit eternal life.
The bible was written about 2000 years ago and while it is easy to understand the message we tend to filter it through 2000 years of history. This blog attempts to look at the message without the prejudice of 2000 years of interpretation.

Welcome
The idea behind this blog is to take a fresh look at Christianity. Usually, when we look at the bible and what it has to say we are really looking at it through the eyes of how history and religious organizations have interpreted it. In this blog we will try to look at what the author meant when he penned his words and attempt to leave behind the 2000 year old bias.
